The President of the Republic presents the Grand Cross of the Order of the Infante D. Enrique to President Serralves

This Thursday, the President of the Republic awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Infante D. Enrique to the President of the Serralves Foundation, Ana Pinho, for the work done over the past few years.

In his speech, which marked the end of the meeting of the Founding Council of Serralves, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, highlighted several projects, as well as the work done during the Covid-19 pandemic, during which the foundation “knew how to find an alternative to adapt the coldness of the rules to requirements of reality.”

“All of these faces had a face that represented them, in both good times and bad, which many, frankly, did not expect eight years ago,” he said, referring to Ana Pinho, who headed the foundation, a body which he was. member since 2010, replacing Luis Braga da Cruz, who was then transferred to the Founders Council.

“By departing from the tradition which is to give tribute posthumously or nearly posthumously, here I am going to give you what you deserve, the first official recognition in the form of a reward for what, against so many expectations, he gave to so many of us for so much “, added the President of the Republic.

Also present at the meeting, the Minister of Culture Pedro Adan e Silva spoke about the work of the institution, emphasizing that the state budget for 2024 provides for an increase in funding for the fund.

The Board of Directors of the Serralves Foundation is headed by Ana Pinho, and the vice-presidents are Manuel Ferreira da Silva, Isabel Pires de Lima and José Pacheco Pereira. The squad consists of Carlos Moreira da Silva, Manuel Sobrinho Simões, Fernando Cunha Guedes, Thomas Jervell and Armando Cabral.

In February, the Minister of Culture extended until 2024 the mandate of Isabel Pires de Lima and José Pacheco Pereira as state representatives on the board of directors.
