The leagues’ board of directors meeting, held in Nyon, Switzerland, also discussed the strategic agenda and key directions for the near future.
The president of the Portuguese Professional Football League, elected unanimously, said following the meeting in a statement published on the Portuguese organization’s website that he considers this moment “the starting point of a new era for the leagues.” .
“Stabilizing the management of our organization will allow us to protect and improve the business model of national competition organisers, while strengthening our position in professional football,” he said.
The meeting, among other things, analyzed the new cycle of European competitions in competitive models and national league calendars, as well as the stabilization of the organization.
