Goalkeeper Alexandre Letellier, Donnarumma’s regular substitute at Paris Saint-Germain, was kidnapped along with his wife and two children during a robbery at his home on Monday evening, AFP reported on Tuesday.
According to a police source quoted by the French news agency, the robbery at the home of a football goalkeeper, located in Adricourt, was carried out by four people, two of whom were minors.
Three of the four criminals have already been arrested, and prosecutors have launched an investigation into alleged crimes of extortion with weapons and kidnapping.
According to a source close to the family, Alexandre Letelier’s wife was hit in the face, the couple was threatened with a knife, and thieves tried to extort money from them.
The same source said the house alarm went off and police and club security responded quickly.
The robbery at the home of 33-year-old Alexandre Letelier follows several similar incidents involving Paris Saint-Germain players or close family members.
In July, Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was slightly injured when his home in Paris was robbed, causing damage of about 500 thousand euros.
Benfica player Angel Di Maria, who at that time played for Paris Saint-Germain, also had his house robbed in March 2021, and in the same year the father of Brazilian defender Marquinhos was robbed and kidnapped.
