The number of unemployment benefit recipients in November increased by 12,487 people

According to a summary from the Department of Labor’s Directorate of Strategy and Planning (GEP), the number of unemployment benefit recipients increased by 12,487 in November compared to the same period last year, representing a deviation of 9.8% to 139,634.

In a document published this Wednesday, the guardianship revealed that “the number of beneficiaries amounted to 139,634”, an increase of 4.2% compared to the previous month (5,654 more beneficiaries) and compared to the same month last year. , there was an increase of 12,487 processed subsidies (+9.8%).

According to the same data, “various unemployment benefits in November 2023 covered 177,179 recipients”, and in comparison with the previous month “there was an increase of 3.9% (6,713 more recipients), and compared to the same period Last year, the number of beneficiaries increased by 13,254 (+8.1%).”

According to the guardianship, the average unemployment benefit was 585.86 euros.

On the other hand, “in the case of the initial social unemployment benefit, this benefit was issued to 7,513 recipients” and this value represents, compared to the previous month, “an increase of 23.5% and, depending on the same period, there was an increase subsidies by 1270 (+20.3%).”

The subsequent social unemployment benefits covered 22,340 recipients, which means a monthly decrease of 1.0% (230 fewer recipients), and compared to last year the decrease amounted to 2,552 recipients (-10.3%).

The same information emphasizes that “unemployment benefits are mainly applied for by women (57.9%), corresponding to 102,508 beneficiaries and 74,671 beneficiaries (42.1%).”

According to the data, “on a monthly basis, unemployment benefits increased by 5.7% for men and by 2.7% for women.”
