Pornhub agreed to pay more than 1.6 million euros in sex trafficking case

Pornhub, one of the world’s largest adult content portals, admitted to profiting from sex trafficking and agreed to pay women who appeared in videos posted without consent, U.S. prosecutors said Friday.

Aylo Holdings, the online portal’s parent company, has reached an agreement to resolve charges related to illegal monetary transactions related to the proceeds of sex trafficking, according to the office of Breon Peace, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Eastern New York.

The agreement calls for the Montreal, Canada-based company to pay more than $1.8 million (€1.6 million) to the US government, as well as make separate payments to women affected by the action. It also requires the appointment of an independent monitor for a period of three years, after which the charges will be dropped.
