Russia’s electoral commission did not allow opposition candidate Ekaterina Duntsova to run against Vladimir Putin in the presidential election, the agency reported this Saturday. Reuters.
The members of this body made the decision unanimously. The issue was the absence of appropriate signatures in a number of documents presented on Wednesday by an opponent and a former journalist.
“You are a young woman. Everything is ahead of you. Any negative sign can always be turned into a positive sign. Any experience remains experience,” the head of the commission, Ella Pamfilova, told the candidate.
The Kremlin believes in Vladimir Putin’s victory in the elections and estimates the support of the current president by Russian society at 80%, taking part in polls.
