Three directors of Ovarense and the club were convicted by the Portuguese Football Federation’s Disciplinary Board for harassment, discriminatory behavior and violations against a female referee team.
“You’re an asshole, they’re going to blow the whistle for ca*****,” Carlos Santos, sports director, said while playing for Aveiro District in the 21/22 season. He was sentenced to a three-month ban and a €1,200 fine.
As for Luis Godinho and Bruno Azevedo, episodes are reported in which the players were “subjected to extreme vulnerability and situations of physical and psychological distress”. They also placed athletes in facilities with “degrading conditions”.
Ovarense must pay a €7,650 fine and play two games behind closed doors.
