A fire broke out in the psychiatric ward of the Padre America Hospital in Penafiel on Tuesday morning. According to CM Four wounded are receiving medical care. Five people who were initially missing have now been found.
The four injured included two employees and a user.
The alarm came at 8:02. Several first responders, including Penafiel, GNR and INEM volunteer firefighters, took part in extinguishing the fire. The fire has now been extinguished.
Judicial police are investigating the cause of the fire, but authorities suspect it was a user admitted to a psychiatric ward.
Users admitted to the psychiatric ward will also be transferred to another ward of the hospital.
