Tennis player Rafael Nadal has announced a six to eight week break after suffering an injury at the Australian Open. The Spaniard suffered a left leg injury in the second set.

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal announced this Thursday that the injury he sustained at the Australian Open on Wednesday will require six to eight weeks of recovery.

“I passed the physical after losing yesterday. [quarta-feira]. MRI [imagem de ressonância magnética] showed a second-degree injury to the iliopsoas muscle of the left leg. Now I will rest and do anti-inflammatory therapy. The usual recovery time is six to eight weeks, ”wrote the world number two on his Twitter account.
