The man detained during the Visela-Moreirense match in the Portuguese First Football League will await trial in freedom after enforcement measures were taken against him regarding his identity and residence, the GNR confirmed this Friday.
In a note sent to Lusa, the security forces confirmed that the man was detained by officers of the Visela territorial post on December 23 during the match of the 15th round of the championship (0:0) and transferred to the department on Wednesday at the Department of Investigations and Criminal Cases (DIAP) of the Judicial Court of Guimarães information about the enforcement measure will be provided.
The man was arrested for failing to comply with the precautionary measure prohibiting access to sports venues, in force since December 4, ordered by the Directorate for the Prevention and Combating of Violence in Sports (APCVD), a police source told Lusa.
The application of the preventive measure occurred due to failure to fulfill the duty of correction, moderation and respect for the sports agent, the same source explained.
As part of the ongoing trial, the defendant could be fined from one thousand to 10 thousand euros and a sanction in the form of a ban on access to sports facilities for up to three years.
