Of the approximately 90 thousand participants who took part in the selection through the online platform Porto Editora, 48.1% chose the word “Professor”, representing about 43 thousand votes for this term, followed by “doctor” with 9.9% and ” Artificial”. When the list of ten word candidates for “Word of the Year” was published, the word “teacher” was justified by “hundreds of protests across the country” for “judging the profession.”
The demands question also justified the presence of the word “doctor” among the likely words of the year, as “doctors continue to demand better working conditions in the National Health Service (NHS).”
“Artificial Intelligence,” ranked 3rd, was justified by generalizing access to this “software” raising “questions about the risks and opportunities of its use.”
