The PSP has arrested a 34-year-old man suspected of two robberies of women at gunpoint on Friday in Porto, a police source said this Thursday.
Speaking to Lusa, a PSP source in Porto said the women who were victims of the robbery were alone and “in commercial establishments” in the city area.
When faced with the threat, the victims handed over various items to the suspects, including “money and cell phones,” he added.
In a press release, PSP Porto points out that the detainee, having no professional activity or permanent residence, has already served “an effective prison sentence for crimes such as residential theft and drug trafficking.”
According to an official statement submitted to the police department, the detainee is suspected of committing “two crimes related to robbery under threat of a syringe.”
The detainee will appear before the judiciary this Thursday to apply coercive measures.
