The Parliamentary Transparency Committee authorized former Minister Marta Temida and former Secretary of State António Lacerdo Sales to give statements to the Inspectorate General of Health (IGAS) regarding the case of Portuguese-Brazilian twins.
The President of the Committee on Transparency and the Statute of Deputies, Alexandra Leitan, announced at a meeting this Thursday that, within the scope of her powers, she has authorized former governors and now PS deputies Marta Temido and António Lacerda Sales to make statements to the IGAS.
Alexandra Leitão did not mention the matter, but Marta Temido confirmed to Lusa that she had asked Parliament to give him permission to provide clarification on the matter.
The Socialist MP also said her hearing was due to take place next week.
The case of two twins living in Brazil, who acquired Portuguese citizenship and received the drug Zolgensma in Portugal in 2020 with a total value of four million euros, was published by TVI in November and is being investigated by the prosecutor’s office.
