The final match of the League Cup, scheduled for January 28 at the municipal stadium of Leiria, will result in some traffic restrictions, the Public Security Police said in a statement this Sunday.
Traffic will be blocked at Rua do Estádio and Avenida 25 de Abril, between the intersection with Rua D. Bárbara Vaz Preto and the Estádio roundabout.
The 5 October Square between the Sinaleiro roundabout and the Citizen’s Store and Rua Capitão Mouzinho de Albuquerque will be air conditioned from 2 pm to 8 pm.
As for the grounds of the stadium, from 15:00 to 24:00 at the Melvin Jones roundabout there will also be restrictions: access will only be allowed to residents, Centro Hospitalar São Francisco, local businesses and ambulances. At the same time, Avenida Bernardo Pimenta will only allow access through the stadium roundabout to authorized vehicles and fans wishing to access the car park until the car park is full.
Only authorized vehicles will be able to approach the Euro 2004 bridge via the Almoinha Grande roundabout.
The opening of the stadium doors will take place at 5:45 pm, two hours before the final whistle, and bars and support services inside the fence will be open throughout the sporting event, according to PSP. However, there will be a ban on street selling within the perimeter.
In a statement, the security forces also strengthened the ban on drinking alcohol and bringing prohibited items and substances into the fence, namely weapons, explosives or pyrotechnic devices.
