Arnaldo Trindade, record editor and founder of the publishing house Orfeu, dies

Arnaldo Trindade, record editor and founder of the publishing house Orfeu, died at the age of 89, his family announced this Monday through a message on the social network Facebook.

Born in Porto on September 21, 1934, he edited some famous names in intervention music until April 25.

The Orfeu label, founded in 1956, has released albums by names such as José Afonso, Adriano Correia de Oliveira, Sergio Godinho, Fausto or Fernando Tordo.

Arnaldo Trindade bought Rádio Triunfo and invited poets and prose writers to record works spoken by themselves: Miguel Torga, José Regio, Sofia de Mello Breiner, Eugenio de Andrade, Daniel Filipe, Aquilino Ribeiro and others.

According to family members, the wake will be held in Cristo Rey, Almada, on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m., and the funeral on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Cristo Rey Church.
