Portugal international Francisca Nazareth has suffered an injury to her left ankle and will be sidelined for almost two months, her club Benfica announced on the official website on Tuesday.
In a short note, the Luz club reported that Kika Nazareth suffered a sprain in her left ankle during last Sunday’s match with Valadares Gaia (3-0), in the 10th round of the Women’s Championship, in which the forward scored two goals.
“The young Portugal international will begin a rehabilitation protocol under the guidance of the club’s clinical department, with an expected break of at least six weeks,” Benfica explained.
Thus, the 21-year-old player, who has 35 caps for Portugal and seven goals, will miss, in addition to the championship games, Benfica’s remaining two games in the Women’s Champions League – against Rosengård and Barcelona.
Nazareth have scored 18 goals in 19 matches in all competitions this season.
