Marseille are considering submitting an offer to Sporting to sign striker Francisco Trincao in January, French newspaper La Tribune OM reports.
The French club have been monitoring the 24-year-old Portugal international for some time and coach Gattuso believes he is the right player for the team.
Trincao has a contract with Sporting until 2027 and a release clause of €60 million, while Barcelona (his previous club) has a release clause of €25 million. The winger has been slow to establish himself at Alvalade, where he is one of the highest paid players in the team.
However, Sporting rejected a €15 million offer for Essougou. Despite being little used by Amorim this season, the 18-year-old midfielder is attracting interest from English, French and Spanish clubs. There are also Portuguese trying to borrow money.
