The Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (Deco) accused telecom operators this Wednesday of not being transparent enough in informing customers about price increases, as they did not inform them of the cost of the increase.
“In an opaque and inadequate manner,” Deko noted, “the three operators informed their customers either on their website, email, SMS or invoice, but none of them actually said what the cost was. increase and future price to be paid by each customer,” according to a note sent to members.
According to the Consumer Protection Association, this form of communication “remains not in the best interests of consumers” and therefore requested the National Communications Authority (Anacom) to “finally define procedures for communicating price changes, regardless of whether they are not provided for in the contract.”
