drugs.
The operation took place 45 nautical miles, equivalent to approximately 83 kilometers, south of the Algarve. The ship had “several dozen barrels of fuel” on board, and its crew consisted of two Moroccans and a Spaniard aged between 23 and 57 years.
Operators had to chase the boat to stop it. The operation involved a fast Marine vessel and another Marine Police vessel, presumably from the tactical action group. Two Navy ships were also involved.
The identities of three suspects have been established.
In 2023, the Navy and NCIS worked together and with Air Force support to capture 90 suspects and seize 36 fast vessels carrying approximately 33 tons of hashish from North Africa.
