Famalican beat Casa Pia in Rio Mayor this Saturday thanks to an exemplary use of the opportunities created. João Pedro Sousa’s team returned triumphantly after a run of six games without a win.
The beginning of the game was marked by tactical rigidity of both teams. Minutes passed, and neither team managed to gain an advantage. In the first half, there were only one shot on goal, and even then in stoppage time. Chiquinho took the ball in the center of the penalty area and fired at goal.
Casa Pia responded in the second half, but the sun didn’t shine for long in the rainy weather. Famalican knew how to be patient in order to “probe” the rise of the enemy lines. After Theo Fonseca had a goal disallowed for offside, Jonder Cadiz took advantage of an attacking transition to extend their lead. Batista didn’t look good in the photo. The Casa Pia goalkeeper was eventually sent off for bringing down Enrique Araujo outside the penalty area.
