Daniel De Rossi is Roma’s next coach. Hours after announcing Jose Mourinho’s sacking, the Italian club reached an agreement with the former club player, who today signed a contract and will train for the day, scheduled for 17:00 local time, minus one in mainland Portugal.
The manager has a contract that runs until the end of the season, with an option to extend for a further season, which will be automatically activated if he achieves direct qualification for the Champions League or wins a trophy.
The 40-year-old former Roma captain spent almost his entire playing career with the Giallorossi from 2000 to 2019, before retiring with Boca Juniors in 2019.
World champion with Italy in 2006, De Rossi made his debut as national team coach as assistant to Roberto Mancini. He then led SPAL in Serie B from October 2022 to February 2023.
