The Portuguese won a silver medal in the Olympic moat at the World Championships

The Portuguese Hunting Rifle Team was in Rabat, Morocco for the Olympic World Moat Championship where they won the silver medal.

To morning Post, Marco Antao, a member of the governing bodies of the Federation, said that these athletes “train in Portugal in conditions that are not similar to those of foreign athletes.” According to Marco, these athletes have common professions and in their free time they prepare for various competitions and even the Olympic Games.

Portuguese shooter João Azevedo won the bronze medal in the Rabat World Cup trap shooting competition, won by Britain’s Matthew Coward-Holley, medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

In the women’s 36-player competition, Ana Rita Rodriguez is tied for third with her Spanish rival with 46 points (23+23), two behind the leader with 48, one point higher than second.

This event counts for the Olympic qualification rankings, which only counts one element of each gender, as do the European Games in Poland and the European Championships to be held in Austria.

The World Championships, which will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, allocate four more places for each gender at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
