An NTC soldier saw a white card during an under-13 football match in Guarda on Sunday.
During the Association meeting In the matches between Desportiva San Romao and Sporting Celorisense, the young footballer was injured.
While the athlete “waited in visible pain for the masseur to arrive,” chief security guard Rodriguez “decided to pick him up and take him to the locker room so that he could be treated more quickly,” GNR detailed in a Facebook post.
At the end of the meeting, the referee showed the soldier a white card in recognition of a “gesture of fair play,” GNR explained.
This educational resource “aims to celebrate ethically correct behavior practiced by athletes, coaches, managers, the public and other sports agents,” the publication recalls, citing how it is defined by the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth.
