A tourist couple reported finding a video camera in front of their bed in their room at a resort in Ipojuca, Brazil. The case is being investigated by the Civil Police.
The Brazilian couple stayed at the resort from January 13 to 17 in two different rooms. The woman is shocked because she is afraid that intimate photographs will become public knowledge, and she is receiving psychiatric help.
The guests’ lawyer said that they asked for anonymity because they were afraid of publicity in the media, the portal reports. r1.
The camera was discovered when a woman heard a strange sound near the TV in the room. Approaching the source of the noise, he found what looked like a socket, but could not insert the charger into it.
After closer observation, he realized that it was a camera. The couple immediately reported the discovery to resort management. An employee of the establishment entered the premises to photograph the object.
Two friends of the couple who were traveling with them searched the room they were in to see if there was a camera in it, but found no device.
The sanatorium administration offered the couple the opportunity to spend the night in another room, but the offer was rejected. The tourists stayed in the same room and slept with a towel in front of the camera.
The lawyer said police are doing everything possible to prevent the illegal sale or distribution of captured content. Tourists are considering the possibility of suing the management of the establishment.
This event may constitute the crime of “unauthorized recording of sexual intimacy”, punishable in Brazil by a penalty of six months to one year in addition to a fine.
