The union representative at the school group Pintor José de Brito in Santa Marta de Portuzelo, in Viana do Castelo, told Lusa that the choice of Valenza for the protest that STOP held on Tuesday in that municipality was a “show of solidarity” with educators and teacher assistants.
“Walensa High School heavily conditioned the right to strike and put enormous pressure on teachers,” said a union delegate who helped organize a protest Tuesday in the second city of Alto Miño.

The demonstration organized by STOP, which started at the school and ended in Fortaleza de Valença, was attended by more than 2,000 teachers and educational assistants from ten municipalities in the district of Viana do Castelo.
