Angola beat Namibia 3-0 this Saturday to secure their presence in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations (CAN), where they will face Jose Peseiro’s Nigeria. In a match in which there were two sendings off (one for each team) and a double by Gelson Dahl, a striker who previously played for Sporting, the Angolans turned out to be the stronger team. Namibia, one of the discoveries of the competition, found itself with a numerical advantage after the Angolan goalkeeper Nebla (14 minutes) was sent off for defending the ball with his hands outside the penalty area. Despite this, Palancas Negras, under the leadership of Pedro Gonçalves, did not stop looking for a goal, which was scored by Gelson Dala (38 minutes). Two minutes later it was Haukongo’s turn to receive a second yellow card and be sent off. After the foul, Gelson Dala scored another goal. In the second half, Dala assisted Mabululu, who set the final result. Also this Saturday, the Nigerian national team under the leadership of Jose Peseiro defeated Cameroon (2:0) with a brace from Lookman (36 minutes and 90 minutes).
