Boavista will this week pay legal fees in a lawsuit filed in 2011 by former employees of the League One club over the confiscation of nine trophies won by the top team in its history.
A source from the “checkered” club told the Lusa agency this Wednesday that the original debt has already been repaid by the current management, despite the fact that it dates back to the period preceding the first elections of President Vitor Murta, leaving a payment of 8 thousand euros in legal costs.
This process began the confiscation of all trophies won by Boavista in men’s senior football, with a focus on the unprecedented national title won in the 2000/01 season, as well as the five Portuguese Cups (1974/75, 1975/76, 1978/79 , 1991/92 and 1996/97) and three Super Cups of Candido de Oliveira (1979, 1992 and 1997).
The achievements of the Bessa emblem, which currently ranks 12th in the I League, have since midnight Tuesday been auctioned in a public auction on the electronic auction portal on the Internet, in a process carried out by the Judicial Court of the District of Porto and valid until March 5.
Starting from a starting price of 7,250 euros and a base price of 14,500 euros, the minimum price accepted for the purchase of a complete set is 12,325 euros.
