The Spanish national team player Marc Gasol announced this Wednesday the end of his basketball career after 20 active seasons in order to devote himself to the presidency of Basket Girona, where he played, and to devote more time to his family.

“It’s time to give back everything basketball gave me,” he said.
The decision was announced at a press conference in Barcelona and reflects his desire to manage the club he founded in 2014 and which he managed to promote to the top division of Spanish basketball in 2022.
