Striker Petar Musa leaves Benfica to join Dallas

Croatian international striker Petar Musa is leaving Benfica after a season and a half with the Eagles to strengthen North American soccer team FC Dallas, both clubs announced this Thursday.

“Sport Lisbon and Benfica announces that it has reached an agreement with FC Dallas of the United States for the permanent transfer of footballer Musa,” the Reds said on their official website.

Although neither club has disclosed the amount of the deal, Portuguese and international media claim that the departure of 25-year-old Petar Musa should net Benfica a sum of around 10 million euros (ME) plus three in variables, with the North American League (MLS) logo reading that this is a “record transfer”.

FC Dallas also announced on its official website that the Croatian striker has signed a contract until 2027 with the option of extending the contract for another year.
