A woman died on Saturday afternoon in England after being attacked by two dogs. Meanwhile, an 11-year-old boy was heard screaming for help while a woman, his grandmother, was killed. Mirror.
Officers from Essex Police were called to Hillman Avenue in Jaywick at around 4pm to arrest a man suspected of offenses linked to the dogs that killed 68-year-old Esther Martin.
According to the newspaper, the woman had come to the village to visit her grandson and the boy is believed to have seen the tragedy unfold as he ran out screaming for help when the attack happened. However, the family only learned about the tragedy around 10 p.m., when police came to the house of the victim’s daughter, Sonya Martin.
Sonia claims her mother has already told the dogs’ owner that they are dangerous and are American Bully XL dogs. Esther’s other daughter, Kelly Furthwell, also confirmed that the dogs involved in the attack were of this breed, which was recently banned in the country.
Kelly says there were eight dogs, six puppies and two adults in the house who attacked the victim.
Police said there was a “family connection” between the victim and a 39-year-old man detained on suspicion of offenses against dangerous dogs. She also states that she was conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident, but believes that “she was attacked by two dogs.” Two dogs were killed on the spot.
