In agony and bleeding from his stomach and neck, Arthur Souza turned to his father for help. Having been stabbed twice by his attacker, the 36-year-old man was still screaming: “Father, help me! I’m going to die,” before losing consciousness and collapsing next to his parent. He died in the hospital.
The crime occurred at 2:30 am this Sunday during the religious holidays of São Bras, in Campanario, in the Madeira municipality of Ribeira Brava. A merchant who had a food and drink stall open during the festival said CM seeing victim Arthur Souza running away from his attacker. Following an argument, a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach and neck. “He ran to look for his father. When his father saw him, he turned to his wife and said: “Our son was killed,” the merchant said.
This was reported by a source in the mixed fire brigade of Ribeira Brava. CM that Arthur Souza did leave the scene alive and died in a Funchal hospital. The Funchal Judicial Police took over the investigation and arrested the killer in the afternoon. Now he will be brought to court for the use of coercive measures.
