The woman accusing Dani Alves of nightclub rape reiterated her facts at her first trial in Barcelona, Spain. The young woman’s statement was made in court behind closed doors.
The Brazilian is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman on January 30, 2022, in the bathroom of a nightclub in the Catalan capital.
The interrogation lasted more than an hour, the alleged victim was separated by a screen so as not to have visual contact with the player.
The woman was always accompanied by Catalan police and left the premises as soon as she finished her testimony, which was recorded with pixelated images and a distorted voice, the Spanish press reported.
After the complainant spoke, it was time to interview his friend who was present on the night of the crime. The witness said that he did not see the drunk football player in the place where they were, and admitted that the victim repeatedly repeated that he did not want to have sex with him.
The friend explained that the young woman did not know that there was a bathroom in the private area of the club where they were. The woman reportedly found the victim crying minutes later. “I’ve never seen her cry like that in my life, and I’ve known her since she was three,” he said.
The friend clarified that the victim also turned to her inconsolably: “He did me a lot of harm, and no one will believe it.” According to the witness, the woman did not want to testify because she was in shock.
The trial for the rape of a young girl by Brazilian Dani Alves began this Monday.
The player has been charged, according to which he could spend 9 to 12 years in prison. The athlete’s defense asked that Dani Alves be heard last.
The Brazilian reached the peak of his career at Barcelona, a club for which he won dozens of titles.
