Ines Souza Real explained this Saturday the PAN guidelines for the agreement on parliamentary influence during a debate with PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos at TVI. “The exercises that PAN will conduct always concern the conditions of the parties to advance our goals,” the party representative emphasized.
Pedro Nuno Santos found PAN’s “ambiguity” in this regard “curious”. While the PS “recognizes the climate emergency,” the CDS-PP and PPM, part of the Democratic Alliance (AD), “are at the antipodes” of the Ines Sousa Real party, the socialist noted. In response, Ines Souza Real signed up for a “progressive center.” When asked about support for the PSD government in Madeira, Ines Sousa Real noted: “There are no bullfights in Madeira.”
On tax matters, PAN “wants to reconsider IRS levels” because “people won’t have to choose between feeding themselves or feeding their pets.” “The middle class is being destroyed,” so the party is proposing a “structural” overhaul.
Regarding the energy transition, Ines Souza Real highlighted the potential for job creation. Pedro Nuno Santos countered: “The energy transition requires lithium in batteries.”
PAN wants to provide a “family doctor for all users” of SNS. “We are losing health workers abroad,” laments Ines Souza Real. Without specifying values ahead of talks with the sector, the PS secretary-general promises to evaluate doctors’ pay scales and allow them to “reconcile their personal and professional lives.” According to the socialist, “the SNA is in danger” due to the policies of the right. Pedro Nuno Santos accuses AD of plans to “redirect resources to private companies.”
Regarding the location of the new airport, Ines Sousa Real disputed the Alcochete-Montijo option, and the PS Secretary General promised to follow the recommendations of the Technical Commission. “What is really important is to decide on the location. The technical committee has already made a decision. We cannot waste any more time,” he emphasized.
