Camila Rebelo reaches the semi-finals of the 100m backstroke at the World Championships

Portugal’s Camila Rebelo qualified this Monday for the semi-finals of the 100m backstroke at the World Swimming Championships in Doha, finishing 13th in qualifying.

Having already qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics in the 200m backstroke, Camila Rebelo secured her place in the semi-finals with a time of 1.01.51 minutes in a qualifying round dominated by North American Claire Curzan (59.72 seconds).

In the 1500m freestyle, Tamila Golub failed to qualify for the final, finishing 15th in qualifying, swimming the distance in 16.31.64 minutes, while the fastest was Italian Simone Quadarella – 16.02.96.

Gabriel Lopez finished 24th in the 100m backstroke with a time of 55.08 seconds, and Ana Pinho Rodriguez finished 27th in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:09.82.

In the afternoon, Diogo Ribeiro will compete in the 50m breaststroke final at 16:46 (Lisbon time), while Camila Rebelo will swim the 100m backstroke semi-final at 16:53.
