Ferrari unveiled on social media on Tuesday a new single-seater capable of challenging the Formula 1 world title that has eluded it since 2008, with a design that brings it closer to the dominant Red Bull in 2023.
With a wider nose and sides, following the trend set by designer Adrian Newey at Red Bull over the last two years, with a cut-out at the bottom, as well as a new rear suspension design.
From an aesthetic point of view, the Ferrari’s bright red color predominates, but with a carbon stripe on the sides of the engine, where two lines predominate: one white, the other yellow.
“I really like this car, including the white and yellow lines,” said Monegasque Charles Leclerc, one of the main drivers of the Italian brand.
Leclerc still believes that the main thing “is performance, because everything is discussed on the track.”
“SF-24 promises to be less sensitive and more controllable. [do que o carro do ano passado] and I always say that this is what riders need for good results,” he emphasized.
Charles Leclerc’s partner will be the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, who will be replaced by the Briton Lewis Hamilton in 2025.
Ferrari has competed in the Formula 1 World Championship since its inaugural season in 1950, having already won 16 constructors’ titles, the last of which was in 2008.
On the other hand, the Cavallino Rampante team has helped win 15 drivers’ titles, the last of which was won by Finn Kimi Raikkonen in 2007.
In total, he took part in 1074 Grands Prix, with 243 victories and 249 pole positions.
