Three women and one man, all Portuguese, have been arrested for the death of a one-year-old child in Pawtucket, US, local press reports.
The arrest came Saturday after authorities found a child in the apartment where the suspects lived with bruises on her face. The suspects called for help because the child was not breathing.
The boy, who died in hospital, was given resuscitation measures.
“I looked out the window and saw doctors carrying a baby in a diaper,” a neighbor told the local press.
Carolina Ledo, 22, Karla Souza, 32, and Daniela Ledo, 25, were charged with child neglect. Joao Rezende, 25, was charged with negligent homicide, child abuse and child neglect.
