Diana Santos’ body has been in Portugal since late last week. However, the family has to wait 8 to 10 days to collect the body for burial.
The remains were transferred from Luxembourg, more than a year after they were found on the borders of France and Germany.
The body of Diana Santos was found dismembered in Mont Saint-Martin on September 19, 2022. Authorities found only the torso. The lower limbs were cut off at the knees; the arms and head were missing.
A month and a half later, more body parts were found in Temmels, on Germany’s border with the Grand Duchy, but authorities never revealed which ones.
Since then, Diana’s remains have remained in Luxembourg under the control of the Diekirch prosecutor’s office, which is leading the investigation.
