One person was killed and three others were injured, one of them seriously, by shots fired as a sign of disrespect early Saturday morning on Avenida Silva Gomez in Amore, municipality of Seixal (Setúbal), a PSP source said.
A police source told Lusa that the assault outside the bar happened at around 4am.
The three men were “transported under their own power” to the García de Orta hospital in Almada, with one of them, 40, pronounced dead in that hospital ward, the same source said.
One of the other two, 22, was seriously injured, while the other, 21, suffered minor injuries, police said.
Another man, who suffered a gunshot wound and was considered to have a minor injury, was taken to Barreiro Hospital, he added.
PSP representatives went to the scene, but did not identify any suspects.
According to a source in the Public Security Police (PSP), the Setúbal Judicial Police was called to the scene and is investigating the case.
The PSP has stepped up police efforts at García de Horta and Barreiro hospitals to try to identify witnesses to the riots.
