They attacked a fellow No Name Boys cheerleader, who was just 16, after a game at the Pavilhão da Luz stadium because he had photographed them in the stands and shared the photos on social media, the State Ministry said.
Prosecutors allege they raped him with a stick and filmed the brutal act just meters from the stadium. But this Monday, at the first hearing, 13 Benfica fans accused of rape, robbery, assault and possession of a prohibited weapon denied any connection with the Benfica fans and the attack on April 19, 2022. They assured that they were not aware of the concept of “casual” – a group of fans dressed in black and not using any elements identifying the club.
The deputy says the group recorded the rape and were filmed heading to the scene of the crime on the night of the crime, but this Monday in court everyone insisted that they were simply heading to the metro station from Alto dos Moinhos. After seeing the images, they said they didn’t know each other. One of the defendants was unable to explain photographs of cheerleading and violence between rival clubs that he had on his mobile phone.
