The Secretary General of the PKP warned this Friday that the right intends to “resume the Troykian project, interrupted in 2015,” asking that “no one be deceived by the possible intervention of the PSD/SDS government.”
Speaking at a PCP rally at the Lisbon Forum, Paulo Raimundo said that “the approximately three million votes that were concentrated in right-wing parties” in Sunday’s legislative elections “represent a negative element for the country, for the workers and the people.” .
According to the communist leader, “one can only expect more injustice and more inequality” from parties such as SDP, CDS, IL and Chega, which, although they claim to act “in the name of the people,” are nothing more than instruments of service economic groups.”
“Even if at this stage, under the pressure of the struggle, they move forward with this or that specific measure, this or that tactical option. They may even come with a corrective budget in an attempt to deceive their fundamental project, but without any questioning the interests of those who determine its actions, that is, economic groups,” he criticized.
In front of a full hall, as several people stood listening to the speech, Paulo Raimundo declared that, apart from the “maneuvers and fabricated differences between PSD, SDS, IL and Chega,” these parties will always converge, “whenever precautions are taken.” place of interests and tasks of big capital.”
“It is in this game of shadows, in which some things are decided openly, while others are decided behind the scenes, it is in this new balance of forces that we will try to resume the Troy Project, interrupted in 2015 by the power of the struggle, the people, the workers, thanks to the decisive force of the PKP,” – he warned to prolonged applause from the audience.
The General Secretary of the PKP called on “not to deceive anyone with possible penetration into wool, because they want to increase exploitation and eliminate rights.”
“They want to go back to those dark times when there were all those who remain in the SDP and SDS today, those who have since moved to Illinois and Chega,” he criticized.
Holding the PS responsible for the current situation, for the fact that it “decided not to react” to the problems of the population with an absolute majority, Raimundo assured that the PKP “will collide from the first minute” with a possible PSD/SDS government.
“If the AD government is nominated, we will submit a motion to reject. It is not necessary to wait until it takes office to know what the aims of this future government will be. (…) We know well what to expect. right,” he said, emphasizing that in PCP there is “no minimum tolerance” for your project.
Raimundo also assured that the party will strive to further deepen its ties with the population, and called for mobilization for the struggle and, in particular, for “large and massive celebrations” of the 50th anniversary on April 25 and May 1.
“It’s time to take to the streets. It’s time to take to the streets everywhere and raise this project high for the future that is April. April is more like the future, it is a future that will come true in May,” he said.
Earlier, at the beginning of his speech, Raimundo said that “the fears and discontent that may exist among communists due to the election results, which created “a situation even more favorable to big capital, are fair and understandable.”
However, despite mentioning that the PKP is dissatisfied with the results – and “will not stop analyzing them” – the communist leader emphasized that “there are those who are very dissatisfied”, since the party did not disappear from parliament, which is an obvious manifestation of the allusion to “He’s arriving.”
“Those who advocate finger-pointing at the neighbor, at the colleague, at the immigrant, creating a false sense of insecurity, are the same ones who do everything to divert attention from the main cause of their situation, the same ones who support forces that position themselves as anti-system , but are the worst that the capitalist system can offer people,” he said.
