A man suspected of dismembering and killing his boyfriend in Lapa, Lisbon, was in custody on Saturday afternoon. The prosecutor’s office has already requested preventive detention, the most serious coercive measure. The final decision was made by the criminal investigation judge and confirmed this Saturday afternoon.
The Spaniard is charged with qualified murder, desecration and concealment of a corpse.
Given the suspect’s Spanish citizenship, the interrogation takes place with the assistance of an interpreter.
The killer used two knives to commit the gruesome crime in Lapa. They killed their partner with one of the knives, and dismembered the body with the other.
CCTV footage from a grocery store shows a Spaniard stabbing his Brazilian boyfriend to death and hiding half his body next to a trash can, covered with a blanket.
The suspect bought the bags in which he hid the body below the waist at a grocery store near the home where the crime was committed. The house was searched.
The man admitted that he placed the remaining body parts in several garbage bags in areas close to where half of the body was found.
