Al Hilal Jorge Jesus wins 29th in a row and extends world record

Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal achieved their 29th consecutive win this Saturday, extending the world record for most consecutive wins by defeating Damak 2-1 at home in the 24th round of the Saudi Football League.

Al-Hilal’s triumph was achieved in stoppage time (90+3 minutes) by Michael, while the opponents were already in the minority.

With Portuguese Ruben Neves in the starting line-up, Riyadh scored in the 79th minute through Salem Al Dawsari, but saw their opponents equalize in the 86th minute through Antolic, shortly before their lead was reduced to 10 after his exile of Al-Anazi, 88 years old.

Thus, the team under the leadership of the Portuguese coach recorded its 29th triumph, maintaining a 100% winning streak since September 25, 2023 between the championship (17 games), the Asian Champions League (nine) and the Saudi Cup (three).

On Tuesday, Al Hilal became the world record holder for most consecutive wins by beating Al Ittihad 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League, a result that saw them surpass Welsh side the New Saints’ 27 straight wins in 2016/17 .

Al Hilal top the Saudi Football League with 68 points, 12 more than Al Nasr, led by Cristiano Ronaldo and coached by Luis Castro, who are in second place.
