Two women reported CM how they became victims of social media scams and lost thousands of euros. A scam that promises high wages for few hours of work is harming hundreds of people.
In just 5 days, from March 6 to 10, one of them lost 6,500 euros and the other 3,500 euros. Recruitment ads to earn a lot of money in a short time appear mainly on Instagram and TikTok.
“They explained to me that I should join a music group on YouTube, make views of different celebrities who look like them, and send printouts with the task,” says one. Another confirms.
After the victims were attracted by the amount received in the first stage, they were enticed to invest the money to profit from the high interest rates. Realizing that they had been deceived, the women filed a complaint with the PNP Alcabides.
