Rescheduled Sporting match postponed due to police absence

The game between Famalican and Sporting, belonging to the 20th round of the I Portuguese Football League, has been postponed this Monday to April 16, at 20:15, after being postponed from the original date of February 3.

In a statement, the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) reports the decision taken and announced this Monday “with the consent of the sports societies and the television cameraman.”

The game is therefore scheduled for Tuesday and will take place for the Lions, leaders of the championship, after a double meeting with Benfica, for the Portuguese Cup and the League, in addition to the match with Gil Vicente and even before the visit. FC Porto.

The game was postponed on 3 February due to security protests that made it impossible to control the match, and was shrouded in further controversy due to clashes between fans outside the stadium.

Sporting are leading the league with 65 points, one more than Benfica, but the Lions have played one less game and Porto are third with 58 points.
