Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called for the shooting to be condemned as a “monstrous crime” and said she would strengthen security measures at Moscow airports and train stations.
Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, also expressed condolences to the families of the victims. “Everyone involved in this crime must be found and brought to justice,” he says.
The French Foreign Ministry said its “thoughts are with the victims of the shooting” and “with the Russian people.”
Advisor to the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak said that Ukraine “has nothing to do with the shooting” and qualifies the attack as a “terrorist act.”
“Let’s be clear: Ukraine has absolutely nothing to do with these events,” he says.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense also accused Russian intelligence of planning the attack.
“We are in a full-scale, total war with the Russian regular army and with the Russian Federation as a country. And no matter what, everything will be decided on the battlefield,” he added.
Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said Russia would “destroy” Ukrainian leaders if they were found to be responsible for the attack.
Türkiye also condemned the shooting at the Moscow concert hall. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan told his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in a telephone conversation that it was a “terrorist attack.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin was informed of the situation “in the first few minutes” and constantly receives updated information about the situation.Foreign Minister João Gomes Craviño also deplored the “horrifying news” of the attack. It states that “attacks against civilians are always unacceptable.”
