A private football match between Russia and Paraguay scheduled for Monday was canceled this Saturday following Friday’s attack on a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow that killed more than 140 people.
“Due to the attack, the Russian Football Union (RFU) and the Paraguayan Football Association decided to cancel the meeting between the two teams,” the RFU said in a statement.
The game, which was due to take place at 15:00 (Portuguese time) on Monday at Moscow’s Dynamo Stadium, could be played later, RFS said.
The attack, which Russian media began reporting around 8:15 pm in Moscow (5:15 pm in Lisbon) on Friday, was carried out by several armed men at the Crocus City Hall concert hall located in Krasnogorsk, on the outskirts. Russian capital, which is claimed by the Islamic State (IS).
