The President of Cape Verde condemned the attack in Moscow and expressed solidarity

This Saturday, the President of Cape Verde expressed condolences to “the Russian people and the families of those killed in connection with the terrorist attack” on Friday in Moscow, which raised the death toll to 133.

Jose Maria Neves has written to Russian President Vladimir Putin, expressing “full solidarity” in what he calls a “painful ordeal” for Russia.

The Cape Verdean head of state also expressed his “firm rejection and condemnation” of the attack, which “displayed extreme violence and cowardice.”

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack on the concert hall and published photographs of the alleged perpetrators this Saturday.

It was the deadliest attack in Russia in years and came just days after Putin consolidated his power with an election victory that drew criticism from several Western countries, as the war in Ukraine dragged on into its third year.
