During the operation this Sunday, a day when the PF usually does not carry out operations, the federal deputy Chiquinho Brazão, adviser to the Court of Auditors of Rio de Janeiro Domingos Brazão, brother of the parliamentarian and deputy (inspector) of the Civil Police (Judicial) also from Rio de -Janeiro Rivaldo Barbosa.
Rivaldo took over as head of Rio de Janeiro’s civil police the day before the deaths of Mariel and her driver Anderson Gomez, who was also shot, and now heads the corporation’s communications and operations sector.
The arrests were a joint effort by the Federal Police, the Attorney General’s Office and the Rio de Janeiro Ministry of Justice and were based on joint testimony given by former Rio de Janeiro military police sergeant Ronnie Lessa, the confessed mastermind behind the bombing. the death of Mariel and Anderson, incarcerated since 2019.
