Novo’s weekly print edition will be discontinued, with the final publication on newsstands this week remaining exclusively in digital format, Media Nove said today in an internal memo to which Lusa had access.
The decision stems from the “need for a strategic reorientation of the brand,” which translates into “the selection of digital platforms, including the brand website, social media and other such channels, as the exclusive means of distributing the content produced by the brand.” The Novo brand” and “are discontinuing the weekly print publication, shifting the brand’s focus to digital platforms,” the group’s board of directors said in a statement after a meeting with the newspaper’s team.
“In this regard, the publication of the weekly printed publication will be interrupted from March 29 (in exceptional cases, postponed to Friday instead of the usual Saturday due to a holiday),” the message says.
