Tax and Customs (AT) has issued a new warning that taxpayers have been sent a fraudulent email regarding a purported refund, stressing that the link offered should not be opened.
“Tax and Customs is aware that some taxpayers are receiving emails purporting to be from AT, with a link to a possible refund, asking them to click on a link,” said a statement published on the Financial Portal.
In one of these false emails, the “customer” is “informed” that “he is entitled to a refund of €250” and is asked to “submit the form” by clicking on a false link, which AT warns is only for the taxpayer to receive access to malicious pages.
